ASPIRE Lab is a clinical neuroscience research group using imaging tools to characterize the neural substrate of schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders Through our studies of the biomolecular and neurocircuitry underpinnings of psychiatric illness, we seek to inform treatment development. We leverage state-of-the-art in vivo positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy (MRI and MRS) technologies to examine molecular and functional models of brain function in individuals with and without psychiatric symptoms. We embrace a precision medicine approach through the development of more biologically-informed symptom characterization, more precise and effective diagnostic and treatment targets, and ultimately disease prevention.
